The Fireman’s Coat comes from the protective outerwear of early firemen, particularly the distinctive double-layer cape that sat over the shoulders and upper torso. I wanted to preserve that sculptural shield of fabric while making it feel like a contemporary work coat. The dark green combination of waxed cotton and Siamese Denim gives the coat two different surfaces — one crisp and protective, one softer and heavier — around the integrated cape construction.
