W’menswear was established in 2015, kindled by the Ponytail Journal Universe (a space promoting slow-living) in which founder Lauren Yates started in 2013. The small label is focused on designing hard-hitting garments for hard-hitting women, developed from inspirational women through history who paved way for future generations of women.
The land is what roots W’menswear into the ground, as it is the source of function and beauty for each garment. Each collection acknowledges the history of workwear and it’s longevity, while exploring the mystery of exquisite and rare slow-made textiles. We work to grow a deeper connection with life, from the materials we use, to the people who breathe life into our products, to the life of our garments once they leave our hands.
In the long run, we hope to promote a heightened sense of mindfulness amongst our community of producers, retailers, and consumers in this respect. We use the word ‘goodness’ here to describe the connection that unites us, and the enormous beauty and fragility that is our shared experience on this planet. In the future, hope to bring together a community that come together through the goodness of slow paced living in our ever-accelerating world.
