Inspired by the Tektite II research program in May of 1970, the Aloha Off-Duty Dress has been constructed in Japanese screen printed rayon. Rayon, a silk like fabric was discovered in the 1880s, is made from purified cellulose. World War II caused a bump in the production of rayon for fabrics and for tire cord, a replacement for rubber which was scarce.
